Award-winning sailing yacht Q offers far-flung adventures around Central America

By Nina Done   17 January 2023

From March/early April you can enjoy champagne cruising on board the elegant sailing yacht Q (ex. Mondango 2) as she sets a course for the lesser-known regions of Central America this Spring, before heading to the tropical idyll of French Polynesia.

Delivered by the New Zealand yard Alloy Yachts in 2008, and refitted in 2016, her exteriors and naval architecture showcase pure pedigree Dubois design, while her chic, light-infused interiors, revealing polished woods and a neutral palette, are from the creative pen of Reymond Langton Design.

Renowned for her high-performance capabilities, her sails can be hoisted at a moment’s notice by her highly-trained crew, perfect for a post-lunch sail. Her ketch rigging has been harmoniously balanced to ensure easy breezy sailing whatever the weather conditions, and guests will thrill at the feel of being powered by nature as she carves through the water, with top speeds of 12-15 knots – making her a first-class competitor at the classic St Barts Bucket and other notable sailing regattas in the yachting calendar.

Additional highlights include a climate-controlled cockpit with a system of retractable windows offering splendid panoramic views at the touch of a button, a 5,500-liter Jacuzzi on the foredeck with adjacent sunpads for soaking up the rays and an expansive flybridge area with sumptuous seating that can be converted into a full-length dining area, as well as an alfresco cinema courtesy of a mizzen boom projector for balmy nights under the stars.

Sailing yacht Q offers accommodation for 10/12 guests across 5 cabins, comprising a master cabin, two doubles and two twin cabins each with a Pullman berth.
