The 193.57ft Conversion expedition motor yacht 'Altair III' was built by Amels in Netherlands at their Makkum shipyard , she was delivered to her owner in 1974 and last refitted in 2007. Previously named Cargill, her luxurious interior was designed by Bannenberg & Rowell.
Altair III's interior configuration has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 18 guests overnight in 9 cabins, comprising a master suite, 1 VIP stateroom, 4 double cabins and 3 twin cabins. She is also capable of carrying up to 20 crew onboard in 10 cabins to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.
Altair III features a displacement steel hull and steel superstructure, with teak decks. She was built to BV (Bureau Veritas) 13/3 Special Service Yacht / S Deep-Sea classification society rules, and is MCA Compliant.
Powered by 3 Paxman (PRH2000 MKVII) 625hp diesel-electric engines and propelled by her single screw propeller Motor yacht Altair III is capable of a top speed of 12 knots, and comfortably cruises at 7 knots. With her 130,000 litres fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 10,000 nautical miles at 7 knots. Her water tanks store around 25,000 litres of fresh water.
