The 59m/193'7" expedition yacht 'Altair III' (ex. Cargill) was built by Amels in the Netherlands at their Makkum shipyard. Her interior is styled by English designer design house Bannenberg & Rowell and she was completed in 1974. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of Bannenberg & Rowell and she was last refitted in 2007.
Altair III has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 18 guests in 9 suites comprising one VIP cabin. She is also capable of carrying up to 20 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.
Altair III is built with a steel hull and steel superstructure, with teak decks. Powered by 3 x diesel-electric Paxman (PRH2000 MKVII) 12-cylinder 625hp engines, she comfortably cruises at 7 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 12 knots with a range of up to 10,000 nautical miles from her 130,000 litre fuel tanks at 7 knots. Her water tanks store around 25,000 Litres of fresh water. She was built to BV (Bureau Veritas) 13/3 Special Service Yacht / S Deep-Sea classification society rules, and is MCA Compliant.
