Nanny Cay, British Virgin Islands

26 Mar - 1 Apr 2018

By Oliver Pearson

Returning in March, the BVI Spring Regatta 2018 promises to entertain and amaze in the dazzling cruising grounds of the Caribbean.

Taking place in the warm waters of the British Virgin Islands, the 47th annual race is sure to be one of the highlights of 2018's spring regatta season.

Introducing a new long distance race, which will see sailing yachts compete at a fast pace around 64 islands, the event will treat competitors and visitors alike to a number of parties and social events.

With the opportunity to undertake some instruction whilst attending the BVI Spring Regatta, amateur sailors will have the chance to earn some hands-on experience when they aren’t being impressed by the professionals.

There will also be a new 165-nautical-mile-long Full Moon Race taking place on 27th March. Starting in Sir Francis Drake Channel, the course will encompass all of the outlying islands of the BVIs, including Anegada, Virgin Gorda, Tortola and Jost Van Dyke.

Billed as an event defined by ‘warm waters, hot racing, and cool parties’, there is arguably no better excuse for a private yacht charter vacation to this part of the world.

In order to find out how you can be a part of the regatta, feel free to get in touch with your preferred charter broker.
