Superyacht COMMITMENT undergoing comprehensive refit and renamed 'Number Nine'

By David Lazarevic   16 December 2019

The 37m /121ft motor yacht 'Number Nine', originally called COMMITMENT, is currently undertaking a refit at Palumbo Superyachts Refit in Naples, where she will receive an 8-metre extension that will bring her LOA to 45 metres.

Delivered in 1989 by Carp Navi, 'Number Nine' is currently undergoing a full-scale refit with Palumbo Superyachts Refit. The project began in July and she is due for completion in May 2020.

A representative from Palumbo Superyachts Refit has said that Number Nine will sport a “more modern look paying homage to her original design”.

The motor yacht features exterior styling by Willem De Vries Lentsch Jr and interiors by the esteemed Bannenberg and Rowell. She was last refitted in 2007.

The refit will include an impressive extension of her stern, bringing her LOA to 45m. An extension is also planned for the flybridge of the motor yacht.

As well as plenty of added space, she will leave the Italian yard with an aft deck jacuzzi and beach club.

It is safe to say that the redesign will ensure Number Nine is tailored towards luxury yacht charters by introducing waterfront space and expanding her alfresco living areas.

On top of an upgrade to her electrical and air-conditioning system, her pipework will receive a complete renewal and her engine room will also be completely revamped with a reinstallation of her two main engines.

Expected to be completed by May 2020, she will be ready for the Mediterranean yacht charter season, cruising in destinations such as Greece and the Amalfi Coast.
