Superyacht 'Cocoa Bean' ready to rejoin charter fleet after extensive 3-year refit

By Editorial Team   18 September 2020

Sporting a fresh new look and a host of upgrades and improvements, the 74m (242') superyacht 'Cocoa Bean' is back on the charter market after completing a comprehensive 3-step refit that began back in 2017.

The three-phase refit was delivered by Spanish shipyard Astilleros de Mallorca, with Langan Design Partners in charge of the architecture and design aspect of the project.

It has seen the Trinity Yachts-built superyacht undergo some considerable upgrades to refresh the look of both her interior and exterior.

When she emerges from the yard, she'll rejoin the charter fleet and resume her position as one of the most popular luxury charter yachts in her size class.

The changes made during this refit were substantial. For each of these changes, the goal was the same: to make the overall design feel more consistent, natural and in keeping with the impression of power and grace the yacht conveys.

Driven by the owners desire to make the design of the yacht feel more consistent, the first phase of the refit saw a new waste treatment plant installed and a new custom-designed Jacuzzi built and installed. An updated crew mess was also created and some additional maintenance work performed.

The second phase of the refit took place from 2018 to 2019 and was centred on the installation of a completely re-designed modern and functional galley and a new extraction system.

The winter refit season of 2019/20 saw the final phase take place, which focused on improving the exterior styling of the Cocoa Bean.

The brows on the top and bridge decks were extended, the aft bulwark was lowered to give guests in the main deck seating area a clearer view of the yacht’s surroundings, trim details were added and enhanced and the mast was restyled and a new, more modern-looking boot stripe added. Cocoa Bean was also entirely re-painted with an updated paint scheme.

Throughout the superyacht there is a wonderful feeling of space and warmth, with numerous wide open living spaces, al fresco dining areas and luxurious and comfortable seating that have all been enhanced even further by the refit.

Launched in 2014, Cocoa Bean was the largest yacht delivered in the USA that year, as well as the largest yacht built by Trinity Yachts. She remains one of the largest superyachts ever built in the United States.

The luxurious motor yacht accommodates 12 guests across six cabins, including a full-beam master suite on the main deck and an adjacent lounge that can be closed off for extra privacy via a sliding door.
