Sanlorenzo reveal new SX100 at the Cannes Yachting Festival

By Anna Ingles   13 September 2023

Drawing inspiration from the revolutionary Bluegame design philosophy, the Sanlorenzo SX100 takes yacht styling to new heights with a striking superstructure that is sure to turn heads.

With multiple layout options available, including a three- or four-cabin lower-deck arrangement, the Sanlorenzo SX100 remains true to the exceptional stern design of its predecessor, the SP110. Descending from the spacious cockpit, guests are greeted by a low-level space that can be transformed into a serene waterline saloon or a luxurious master suite, perfect for exceptional views during a South of France yacht charter. The fold-down bulwarks also allow natural light to flood the area from all sides.

Moving up to the main deck, guests will discover a generous amidships seating area and the option for a captivating forward cabin, suitable for a VIP or master suite. Alternatively, this space can be transformed into an open-plan dining area, offering breathtaking views from three sides. On the top deck, the wheelhouse provides additional seating and an elevated dining table, perfect for enjoying breakfast with family or entertaining clients during a corporate yacht charter.

The interior design of the Sanlorenzo SX100 showcases the yard's trademark adventurous approach. Open tread companionways, cantilevered stairs, and an abundance of glass create an atmosphere reminiscent of a sophisticated loft apartment.

Sanlorenzo has chosen an unconventional machinery package for the SX100, featuring four Volvo D13 engines with a combined output of an impressive 3,200hp. Despite its size and weight, this yacht achieves a top speed of approximately 23 knots, with a fast cruising speed of 20 knots and a relatively economical rate of 10 knots for long-distance travel. A perfect combination for leisurely cruises around archipelagos during a luxury yacht charter.

While unexpected for a motor yacht of this nature, the IPS propulsion system plays a crucial role in the overall concept. By positioning the engines low and aft, the SX100 maximizes interior space, allowing for innovative accommodation arrangements that set it apart from the rest.
