Actress Naomi Watts who plays the People’s Princess greeted fans on the Leicester Square red carpet alongside actor Naveen Andrews who portrays Khan.
The screenplay is based on Kate Snell's 2001 book Diana: Her Last Love, which follows the last two years of the Princess of Wales life before her death in which the affair with heart surgeon Dr Hasnat Khan allegedly took place. Naomi Watts has said she was initially hesitant about the film due to Diana being such an iconic and well-loved figure. However, despite some already very mixed reviews Watts does bear an uncanny resemblance to Princess Diana throughout the film, capturing grace, elegance and doe-eyed look for which she is famed.
Some scenes in ‘Diana’, which can be viewed on the movie trailor below, took place on board what is thought to be luxury charter yacht Princess Iolanthe which was used to re-create the famous photos of the Princess on board Dodi Al Fayed's family yacht, 'Jonikal'. At the time, these images seemed to confirm the relationship and were spread through media channels worldwide just weeks before her tragic death.
