New joint ticket option unveiled for 2 major Miami yacht shows

By Rebecca Bradbury   29 January 2018

Joint tickets for the Miami Yacht Show and the Miami International Boat Show, which have run simultaneously in Miami for nearly three decades, are available this year for the very first time.

The boat show weekend, which takes place in 2018 from 15th to 19th February, is one of the most renowned in the world and the new joint ticket option aims to increase enjoyment and convenience for its visitors.

Long known as the Yacht & Brokerage Show, the Miami Yacht Show is dedicated to superyachts, whereas the Miami International Boat Show brings together yachting gear and accessories as well as water toys and tenders.

The joint admission runs from 16th to 19th February and, for $50 per person per day, attendees can enter both shows, with buses running between the two show locations from 9am to 5pm.

The Miami Yacht Show stretches for more than a mile along Collins Avenue in Miami Beach. It features more than 500 yachts for both sale and charter, including the superyachts on display at nearby Watson Island.

This element of the show is for yachts too large for the Indian Creek Waterway, which runs parallel with Collins Avenue, and is known as Superyacht Miami.

Meanwhile, the Miami Marine Stadium Park and Basin on Virginia Key hosts the Miami International Boat Show. Here, there are more than 200 boats available for on-sea trials alongside on-water displays of sailing monohulls and catamarans.

On-land exhibits also form a key component of the show with hundreds of yachting-related companies presenting their products and services in the show tents.

Other updates to the Miami Yacht Show, which will celebrate its 30th anniversary edition next month, include a brand new look and layout, new enhancements to the floating dock entrances and improved bus shuttles and water taxi services.
