MEDYS 2021 charter show in Greece cancelled

By Mairead Finlay   19 February 2021

Due to recent COVID-19 developments, the Greek Yachting Association has made the decision to cancel this year's Mediterranean Yacht Show.

The popular show, which showcases the beauty of yacht chartering in Greece and the Eastern Mediterranean, was due to take place from 22nd to 25th April at the sparkling port of Nafplion.  The event has been annulled in coordination with the Municipality of Nafplion.

The decision was taken in light of an ever-evolving situation with COVID-19 and current international travel restrictions that are in place.

we felt that this was the best way to proceed in order to ensure that everyone associated with the event was kept out of harm’s way

As part of an official statement released today by the Greek Yachting Association (GYA) about the cancellation, they said:

"The annual MEDYS is always highly anticipated by the international yachting community but we felt that this was the best way to proceed in order to ensure that everyone associated with the event was kept out of harm’s way."

But whilst the in-person MEDYS event will not be taking place this year, the GYA did highlight that the Virtual Yachting Show will instead be going ahead. This online event provides viewers with in-depth video tours that feature some of the magnificent yachts to have graced the Greek seas.
