Preceded by the Renault 2.0 series, the final practice laps and qualification stage for this year's Monaco Grand Prix brought the superyachts alive in Port Hercules today.

Indeed, with the main event creeping ever closer, charter guests were to be seen across numerous aft deck sections enjoying the spectacle taking place in front of their very eyes, with the highly anticipated qualification round beginning at 3PM.

Following a record-breaking lap from Australian Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo on Thursday, expectations were naturally very high for the qualifying round of the competition.

Making good use of the brand new Pirelli hyper-soft tyres, the 28 year old broke the previous record set by Kimi Raikkonen last year, setting a time of 1:12.126.

Ricciardo went on to secure pole position in tomorrow's race whilst his Red Bull teammate, Max Verstappen, will start at the back due to crashing out in his qualification stage.

Proving that this season’s Formula One cars are faster than ever before, there will surely be great anticipation for the main event tomorrow.
