Experience a regatta yacht charter on board sailing yacht EROS

By Rebecca Bradbury   16 January 2019

The 35m/115ft classic yacht EROS from Brooks Motor Craft has signed up for a number of regattas, including this year's St Barth’s Bucket and Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta, and you can be part of the action.

Launched by the British shipyard in 1939, EROS boasts an illustrious history, from assisting in the war effort to hosting King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia on their honeymoon in 1962. More recently, in 2017, she arrived onto the charter scene after undergoing an extensive restoration.

Not only is she available for yachting vacations, but she is also open for charter at a number of regattas throughout the year, with 17 dates confirmed at events in the Caribbean and New England.

Races on her schedule include the St Barth’s Bucket, the Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta, the New York Yacht Club Annual Regatta, the Camden Classic Cup, the Corinthian Classic Yacht Regatta, the Opera House Cup, the Newport Classic Yacht Regatta and the Heritage Cup Regatta & Rendezvous.

Experienced sailors undertaking a regatta yacht charter on board will be captivated by the power generated by her large sails and majestic rigs and awed by her speed as she accelerates to 12 knots, easily keeping pace with lighter and newer yachts.

Throughout her renovations, no expense was spared in recreating her original splendour and many additional features remain alongside the latest navigation and safety systems.

During a race, charterers, crew and other sailors on board will each be given positions and tasks during the race, ably coached by the captain and first rate. The result is one of the best team-building experiences imaginable, combining fun with the opportunity to develop or hone your sailing skills.

The principal charterer can bring up to 12 guests to participate in the sailing on board luxury yacht EROS, with eight able to sleep on board for the duration of the regatta charter.

At the end of each day of racing, the on-board chef will prepare a delicious dinner or guests can choose to enjoy the on-shore food and drink scene and bond with fellow sailors.
