Deputy Prime Minister Opens Inaugural Thailand Yacht Show

By Rebecca Bradbury   11 February 2016

Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, Tanasak Patimapragorn, opened the inaugural Thailand Yacht Show today at Phuket’s Ao Po Grand Marina.

An impressive line-up of superyachts from across South East Asia are gathered for the four-day show and will be showcasing their charter offer to industry professionals and charter clients.

The show comes at a time when momentum and interest in Thailand’s yacht charter potential is at its peak following a landmark announcement of a new licence for foreign-flagged superyachts to charter in Thai waters.

Luxury yachts in attendance include Lurssen’s 73m/240ft superyacht TITANIA, the 51m/167ft traditional Indonesian-style superyacht ‘Dunia Baru’ and the recently refitted 41m/135ft superyacht ‘Ocean Emerald’.

The show also brings together a superb range of luxury products, glamorous parties and all the best-known boating brands.

A full programme of social events includes private superyacht parties for Thailand’s elite as well as public events organised in partnership with Phuket’s top hotels and resorts.

Tomorrow night, the marina will come alive with the Rock the Docks party and this will be followed on Saturday night by Andaman Cruises’ legendary Blue Party.

The show will conclude on Sunday 14th February at Phuket’s Dream Beach.

If you are interested in any of the luxury yachts appearing at the Thailand Yacht Show, please contact your preferred charter broker.
