The 45m/147'8" expedition yacht 'Southern Cross' (ex. Koshiji Maru) was built by Niigata Shipyard in Japan at their Niigata shipyard. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of Periscope Naval Architects and she was last refitted in 2023.

Southern Cross is built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, with teak decks. Powered by twin diesel Niigata (6MG25HX) 6-cylinder 1,500hp engines, she comfortably cruises at 10 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 14 knots. Her water tanks store around 10,000 Litres of fresh water.
