The 180.45ft custom Motor yacht 'Penguin' was built by Schichau Unterwesser in Germany at their Bremerhaven shipyard , she was delivered to her owner in 1961 and last refitted in 2009. Previously named Kapitän Hilgendorf, her luxurious interior was designed by Birgit Schnaase.
Penguin's interior configuration has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests overnight in 6 cabins, comprising a master suite, and 5 double cabins. She is also capable of carrying up to 17 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.
Penguin features a full displacement steel hull and steel superstructure, with teak decks. She was built to Germanischer Lloyd classification society rules.
Powered by 3 MTU (12V 2000M50A) diesel engines and propelled by her single screw propeller Motor yacht Penguin is capable of a top speed of 13 knots, and comfortably cruises at 10 knots. With her 114,000 litres fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 6,334 nautical miles at 10 knots. Her water tanks store around 21,000 litres of fresh water.
