The 244.42ft Custom motor yacht motor yacht 'Zeus' was built by Blohm + Voss in Germany at their Hamburg shipyard , she was delivered to her owner in 1991 and last refitted in 2009. Francis Design is responsible for her beautiful exterior and interior design. Previously named Eco,
Zeus's interior configuration has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests overnight in 6 cabins, comprising a master suite, 1 VIP stateroom, and 4 double cabins. She is also capable of carrying up to 21 crew onboard in 10 cabins to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.
Zeus features a displacement steel hull and grp superstructure, with teak decks. She was built to Lloyds Register classification society rules.
Motor yacht Zeus is equipped with an ultra-modern stabilization system which reduces roll motion effect and results in a smoother more enjoyable cruising experience underway.
Powered by 2 Deutz (BV16M628) 5,000hp diesel engines, 1 General Electric (LM 1600) 18,500hp gas turbine engines and propelled by her triple waterjets Motor yacht Zeus is capable of a top speed of 32 knots, and comfortably cruises at 18 knots. With her 230,000 litres fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 4,031 nautical miles at 18 knots. Her water tanks store around 38,000 litres of fresh water.
Her two diesels and a gas turbine provide 28,000hp to three KaMeWa water jets. On the death of her first owner, the yacht was purchased by Oracle founder Larry Ellison, who renamed her Katana, after a Japanese sword. He removed the seaplane facilities and replaced them with a basketball court.
