The 95.47ft Jongert 2900M sail yacht 'Mbolo' was built by Jongert in Netherlands at their Wieringerwerf shipyard . This luxury vessel's sophisticated exterior design and engineering are the work of Tony Castro. Previously named Ameena, her luxurious interior was designed by Peter Sijm.
Mbolo's interior configuration has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 6 guests overnight in 3 cabins, comprising a master suite, 1 double cabin, 1 twin cabin and 1 pullman bed. She is also capable of carrying up to 4 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.
Designed for cruising, her keel was replaced by Jongert in 2005 to increase performance, this modification was checked and certified by Lloyd’s. As a result she now performs very well in light winds, but does not heal too much in heavy seas.
Mbolo features a displacement aluminium hull and aluminium superstructure, with teak decks. She was built to Lloyds Register ✠ 100A1 SSC classification society rules.
Powered by 1 Caterpillar (3126) 262hp diesel engines and propelled by her single screw propeller sailing yacht Mbolo is capable of a top speed of 12 knots, and comfortably cruises at 8 knots when powered by her engine. With her 4,100 litres fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 1,450 nautical miles at 9 knots. Her water tanks store around 2,500 litres of fresh water.
