Her interior is styled by English design house Bannenberg & Rowell and she was completed in 1938. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of G.L. Watson & Co. and she was last refitted in 2005.

Blue Bird of 1938 is built with a steel hull and steel / wood superstructure, with teak decks. Powered by twin diesel Deutz (V6 1015MC) 399hp engines, she comfortably cruises at 12 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 13 knots with a range of up to 4,606 nautical miles from her 20,000 litre fuel tanks at 10 knots.
