Mykonos to Athens

8 Days, from Mykonos to Athens

Ideal in the summer season

  • Day 1Mykonos - Naousa Paros

Embark in Mykonos around midday. The island is generally regarded as the prettiest of the entire Cycladic island group. Whitewashed houses and windmills overlook the town and port. The town has hundreds of narrow streets where one can easily wander for hours. ‘Little Venice’ is worth a special visit with its quaint shops selling folk art items and fine jewelry.

Cruise in the afternoon to Paros. Several colorful events take place in this island, such as the wine and fish festival during the summer months. A visit to the monastery of Panagia Ekantontapiliana (“the hundred gates”) is a must. It is one of the most important Byzantine monuments in Greece. Naoussa and it’s beautiful bay is a good place to stop and swim.

The beautiful picturesque fishing village of Naoussa is located in a huge bay in the northern part of Paros. This lovely village has manage to keep its authenticity, its character and its charm, with its whitewashed and flowered little houses and its tiny whitewashed churches and chapels, surrounded by labyrinth-like narrow, stone-paved streets.

  • Day 2Naousa - Ios

Ios is a tiny island and another picturesque place to visit. Coasts with cliffs, beautiful shores and beaches covered in white sand surround the island. Stroll around the narrow streets of the main town and admire the numerous churches and the gorgeous views.

Manganari is one of the most picturesque beaches of Ios. Due to its remote location and the long distance from Chora (23km), the beach remains undisturbed from the noisy crowds. The secluded bay is protected from the strong winds offering calm swimming and snorkeling. Scenes from the famous movie “Le Grand Bleu” were actually shot in Manganari, revealing the extraordinary water quality and beautiful scenery. We can organize an unforgettable barbecue there.

  • Day 3Ios - Santorini

Leaving early from Maganari, you will cruise round of the Volcano of Santorini.

The volcano lies in the centre of the island’s bay. Fira, the main town, with a combination of white washed houses, red and black cliffs and winding streets is one of the most beautiful corners of the world. Visit the archaeological site of Akrotiri.

The Captain will arrange an excursion for you to visit Hmerovigli, a village on the island renowned for it’s spectacular sunsets.

  • Day 4Santorini - Milos

Well known for its rich natural resources and the famous statue Venus de Milo, or Aphrodite, which now resides in the Louvre, Milos is unique for its astonishing lunar landscape which creates unbelievable and imposing rocky formations coloured in deep red, brown or glimmering white.

Milos is a favourite charter island as it combines the blue Caribbean water and the Greek hospitality.

  • Day 5Milos - Sifnos

Cruise to Sifnos in the morning and buy a ceramic pot of honey to the local market - the best in the world.

Make a visit to the monastery of the Virgin Mary, where it is said the statue has healing powers.

  • Day 6Sifnos - Serifos

The town of Serifos is built on top of a hill, surrounded by walls intending to protect the island from the raids of pirates.

A rocky beautiful island with a spectacular view from the inner chora (village).

  • Day 7Serifos - Kythnos

In Kythnos you will find beautiful sandy beaches, white washed houses, small cafes called “Kafenion “ in Greek, a unique atmosphere where life seems endless.

Here the terrain is mainly mountainous, but the harshness of the bare earth is relieved here and there by vines or fig trees, while pretty little bays form indentations in its coastline. The capital of the island called Hora or Messaria, stands on a hillside plateau, 8 km from Merihas. It is a typical Cycladic village, noted for its beautiful churches with their fine wood carving, sanctuary screens and icons.

  • Day 8Kythnos - Vouliagmeni (Athens)
