Perfectly demonstrating how not to moor a yacht, this video stands as a lesson to underqualified Captains and charterers alike that an experienced crew is the only way to go.
The video shows an obviously unqualified Captain (known as a ‘Credit Card Captain’ in the industry) hired by a bareboat company trying to moor a sailing yacht in the British Virgin Islands. Some people on a nearby private boat filmed his disastrous attempts which within 45 minutes resulted in six vessels being damaged, before heading out on their tender to help him.
A reputable charter broker will always recommend highly qualified Captain’s and crew who not only offer a fantastic service and unforgettable experience but will leave you feeling safe in their expert hands. A charter vacation should be the ultimate in relaxation, avoiding unnecessary mishaps like this at all costs!
Take a look at the selection of superyachts available for charter in the British Virgin Islands who do have a team of expert crew members on board.
