VIDEO: Miami Yacht Show 2019 continues in fine form

By Katia Damborsky   15 February 2019

Held in conjunction with Superyacht Miami, the 31st edition of the Miami Yacht Show has enjoyed an excellent start at its new location on Biscayne Bay.

As the sun shines down on Miami, attendees of the 2019 Miami Yacht Show are taking to the boardwalks for another day of touring yachts, perusing exhibitors’ stands and taking part in social events.

Running between 14 - 18 February, this is the first time the in-water boat show has been hosted at One Herald Plaza, with yachts lined up between MacArthur and Venetian Causeway (or 15th street).

This new situation has placed the Miami Yacht Show in closer proximity to the Superyachts Miami element of the event, which is hosted annually at Island Garden Marina on Watson Island.

While an official ribbon-cutting ceremony opened the show on February 14, the first day was a preview reserved for industry players, media professionals and those with VIP access who wished to be among the first to view the 500 yachts on display.

The day wound down with a party hosted by the International Superyacht Society aboard the 47m/154ft motor yacht USHER. With views over superyacht KISMET lighting up the waters with her emerald-green underwater lights, party-goers were wowed by the sight of the longest yacht on the show’s line-up.

The upbeat atmosphere is expected to continue today as the Miami Yacht Show enters its second day. At One Herald Plaza, show-attendees can admire a wide variety of vessels, from sailing yachts and sportfishers to tenders and motor yachts.

Among the superyachts on display here, show-goers will spot the 35m/116ft charter yacht KIPANY and the Trinity-built 48m/157ft luxury yacht ‘Never Enough’. These two are both excellent options for those considering a Caribbean yacht charter vacation.

Attendees with access to both the main event and the Superyachts Miami section of the show can take a tender between the two locations throughout the day. Turning plenty of heads at Island Garden Marina, Feadship’s 50m/165ft luxury yacht BROADWATER is standing proud alongside the 50m/164ft motor yacht INCOGNITO from Overmarine.

The 58m/200ft superyacht MINDERELLA is also docked at Watson Island, flanked by fellow Feadship build DAYBREAK and Azimut charter yacht ANDIAMO.

While there is plenty to see on the water, the show’s 67,000 square foot of exhibition space promises lots to see on land as well. First-time attractions include pop-up luxury retail, guest lounges, prestige cars and private aircrafts also on show.

In addition, the Windward VIP Experience has returned with even more exciting privileges, including access to a premium open bar, gourmet food, happy hours featuring award-winning chef mixology, wine tastings and private social events.
