From new launches to new additions, refits to conversions, 2014 was a great year for the global charter fleet which continues to improve, innovate and reach new levels of luxury.
With this in mind, 2015 can only get better so we’ve compiled ten of the best superyachts to watch out for next year. Whether they offer the latest facilities, regatta racing speeds or brand new refits, these luxury charter yachts represent the exceptional levels of quality and all-round experience available on the charter market.
Brand new launch with the latest charter yacht facilities:
Arguably the most talked-about new addition to the charter fleet last year, the stunning 95m/312ft superyacht KISMET was one of a number of Lürssen vessels delivered in 2014 in what was a fantastic year for the German shipyard. Since her launch she has continued to grab the industry’s attention with notable design features, such as a silver jaguar on her bowsprit as well as a basketball hoop to add to her array of onboard facilities. We look forward to seeing what surprises she has in store for 2015!
Undergoing extensive refit ready for 2015 adventure charters:
Originally built in 1974 by IHC Verschure, the 74m/241ft ice class expedition yacht LEGEND (previously GIANT) is currently being transformed into a luxury yacht of the highest specifications by ICON Yachts. She is part of a growing trend of expedition style charter yachts that combine comfort, a huge selection of luxury amenities and beautiful interiors with world-exploration abilities. LEGEND is due to embark on her first charter season in 2015, set for the remote cruising grounds of Antarctica, Greenland, the North Pole and beyond.
Fully equipped for relaxing, exciting and comfortable charter vacations:
Following her highly acclaimed launch from Lürssen in 2013, the 85m/279ft motor yacht SOLANDGE has enjoyed a successful first year on the global charter fleet. Nominated for a flurry of industry awards in 2014 in recognition of her exception Espen Oeino design and stunning interior finishes, she was also one of the stand-out superyachts at last year’s Monaco Yacht Show. She was built for an experienced Owner with intent to charter and exhibits a comprehensive list of offerings, from multiple swimming pools to PADI certified crew to ensure unforgettable Caribbean yacht charters.
M/Y GRACE E
Award-winning interior styling combined with expedition yacht capabilities:
The 73m/240ft expedition yacht GRACE E is another of our top ten to be launched in 2014 with a bright year ahead on the global charter fleet. She is the third vessel in Perini Navi’s Picchiotti Vitrivius series that also includes the 2010 50m/164ft motor yacht ‘Exuma’ and the 2011 55m/183ft superyacht ‘Galileo G’. Her state-of-the-art design and technology ensures outstanding performance in fuel consumption and power while inside, charter guests can relax amongst a number of comforts such as a dedicated ‘wellness deck’. This super-stylish, cutting edge luxury yacht will take you anywhere in style in 2015.
S/Y SPIRIT OF THE C's
Unique sailing yacht recently refitted and is in great condition:
The 64m/210ft 2003 Perini Navi sailing yacht ‘Spirit of the C’s’ returned to the global charter fleet in the second half of 2014 and was welcomed with open arms. Having come under new Ownership she was promptly refitted at the Rybovich Shipyard to ensure she is in pristine condition ready for a new era of charterers. One of her most notable features on board is her crow’s nest where guests can enjoy breathtaking views some 40m/131ft above the waterline, while her full-beam master suite offers a treadmill built into the pull-out closet.
M/Y BLACK DIAMOND
A unique ‘Beach Event Yacht’ available at daily charter rates:
An interesting addition to the charter market at the end of last year, the newly remodelled 64m/210ft conversion motor yacht ‘Black Diamond’ is setting herself apart as a fantastic setting for event charters. Whether hosting a corporate or social gathering, her vast decks spaces and intelligently arranged outdoor furniture could make her the perfect choice for the 2015 editions of the Monaco Grand Prix and the Cannes Film Festival. She is capable of welcoming up to 450 guests on board at anchor and at quay and is being offered at a daily charter rate of €55,000 plus expenses.
Extensively refitted inside and out over a two year period:
Despite being launched more than a decade ago in 2001, the stunning 60m/197ft superyacht DREAM has proved that loving and meticulous maintenance can ensure any charter yacht consistently competes with the newest to the market. She underwent an extensive two year refit project that was completed in 2013, earning her a place on the prestigious International Superyacht Society Awards shortlist for ‘Best Refit’ in 2014. Her beautiful interior has been completely re-designed by the renowned Bannenberg & Rowel to encompass a chic, ‘Zen like’ style featuring dark glossy woods, large windows and the finest furnishings all finished with a sleek contemporary feel.
S/Y PERSEUS 3
Representing Perini Navi sailing yacht design at its best:
The 2014 launched sailing yacht PERSEUS 3 is the latest in Perini Navi’s 60m series and made her world debut in 2014 at the Monaco Yacht Show. Her design and construction features the latest in superyacht innovations and performance solutions to include an all-carbon fibre 75.8m mast – one of the top three longest masts in the world. She is tipped to make her mark on the international regatta circuit in 2015, though with luxury amenities that include an infinity pool she is also perfect for relaxing sailing yacht charters.
Classic Feadship with new contemporary interior & outdoor jacuzzi:
Launched in 1979, the 53m/175ft motor yacht MIRAGE epitomises classic Feadship pedigree and charm. She has however been continually upgraded to the highest standards, most recently becoming part of the Yacht Carbon Offset program in an effort to reduce impact on the environment. Another new addition to her amenities list includes a luxurious on deck Jacuzzi and in 2015 she will benefit from a brand new state of the art bridge as well as a full external paint job to ensure MIRAGE looks her best for years to come.

Lengthened and remodelled to feature huge new swimming pool:
Following her sale early in 2014, the 2009-built ICON embarked on a complete re-model to attract a new crowd of charterers. This included a 5m extension to bring her LOA in at an impressive 68m/223ft while making room for a brand new infinity pool complete with glass bottom panels to allow light to flood her refitted interior. She also boasts a luxurious new beach club with a large Hammam, a six person sauna, a gym, showers and a dive store. These well-conceived improvements are sure to make her one of the popular charter choices for 2015.
