Superyacht CLOUDBREAK offers once in a lifetime experience in Madagascar

By Editorial Team   23 February 2018

Presenting a highly unique opportunity which is not to be missed, the 73m/238ft motor yacht CLOUDBREAK will be available to charter in Madagascar from mid-April.

As part of her exciting world tour, superyacht CLOUDBREAK will be cruising in a destination that very few superyachts ever cruise in. Indeed, the island of Madagascar is rarely visited by superyachts as very few are in the vicinity.

With this in mind, the opportunity to discover the tropical paradise on board a groundbreaking award-winner is the very definition of a once in a lifetime opportunity.

The ideal platform to experience Madagascar, CLOUDBREAK is a custom-built explorer equipped with all of the accessories necessary to explore in style, as well as a range of wellness facilities that promise to restore the energy of those on board.

With additional tenders and a highly skilled crew in adventure sports, CLOUDBREAK is the ideal choice for charter guests with a sense of adventure.

Of course, once they’ve stepped back on board the yacht, guests will find themselves in a relaxed environment that boasts its own plunge pool, sauna, and a dedicated massage room.

Providing access to panoramic views of Madagascar, the vast upper deck of CLOUDBREAK is suitably furnished for sundowners against an exotic backdrop.

Equipped for adventure as well as relaxation, superyacht CLOUDBREAK couldn’t be better suited to the cruising grounds of Madagascar

Populated by beautifully varied wildlife, and surrounded by waters perfect for both watersports and whale-watching, Madagascar is unquestionably one of the most exciting destinations to visit on a yacht charter around the Indian Ocean.

With white-sand beaches stretching out to greet those arriving on board superyachts, charter guests will find themselves immersed in a colourful world and surrounded by a culture unlike any other.

What’s more, thanks to its proximity to the equator, Madagascar enjoys a consistently inviting climate. With all of this in mind, charter guests are able to bask in the sunshine as they trace the 5,000 kilometres of coastline on offer.

No less than five percent of the world’s animal and plant species are unique to Madagascar, populating its dry desert, its luscious rainforest and its stunning coastline. Offshore is equally abundant, with dozens of islands and a barrier reef sheltering a diverse mix of marine life.

While tracking marine life, prepare to encounter an array of other sea life, from fast-swimming tuna and bomb-diving birds to Mobula rays and bottlenose dolphins. At this time of year, breeding humpback whales can usually be spotted too.

When cruising Madagascar aboard CLOUDBREAK, stepping ashore and coming face-to-face with the nation’s plethora of weird and wonderful creatures is an absolute must.

Venture into the rainforest and encounter lemurs scuttling along overhead branches, chameleons stalking along a twig just an arm’s length away, vivid frogs gurgling in the foliage and oddly-shaped insects doing battle on a nearby leaf.

Trees and plants are equally impressive. There are fanning ravinala, hundreds of orchids and the spiny forest of the desert south. But, most breath-taking of all are the towering, otherworldly baobab trees and a trip to the Avenue of the Baobabs cannot be missed.

Fishing is also a popular pursuit. Expect freshly caught fish to be delivered direct to your yacht by local fishermen or, as CLOUDBREAK's garage is stocked with fishing equipment, charterers can try their hand at winning the catch of the day.

Another highlight of visiting Madagascar is encountering the nation’s melting pot of cultures. As migrants from all corners of the Indian Ocean populate the country, an intricate set of beliefs and rituals that revere the ancestor’s sprits has evolved.

One of the most memorable experiences of a Madagascan vacation can be attending a famadihana exhumation ceremony, where the dead are – literally – given a party once every seven years.

Madagascar is also a dream destination for water sport’s enthusiasts. Kite and wind-surfers are treated to steady winds, uncrowded waves and dream-like surrounds. The country has also been dubbed as ‘the new surfing frontier’.

Among the best locations for kite and wind-surfing is the lagoon of Antsiranana Bay at the northernmost tip of the main island and the secret spot of Lavanono in the south.

Luckily, CLOUDBREAK is fully-equipped to cater for these activities, as well as an array of other watersports. Pick from the likes of jet-skis, kayaks and seabobs, while qualified instructors are on hand to provide training. Charterers can also learn to scuba dive.
