Porto Montenegro opens two new entertainment venues

By Rebecca Bradbury   25 May 2018

Porto Montenegro, the multi-award winning luxury yacht homeport and marina village based in Tivat, Montenegro, has opened a new beachside venue as well as a new events space in time for this summer’s Mediterranean yacht charter season.

The first of the two venues is an innovative new extension of the Porto Montenegro Yacht Club (PMYC) known as the PMYC Beach. Giving the yacht club its very own waterfront setup, the luxurious area is a 600 square metre oasis with direct access to the water.

Brightly decorated daybeds, hammocks, giant beanbags and deckchairs create an eclectic, informal atmosphere for daytime relaxation. At night, the space transforms into an open-air bar, reminiscent of the very finest beach clubs found across the Mediterranean.

The other new addition is the Porto Montenegro Marina Park. Directly overlooking the superyachts of Porto Montenegro and the UNESCO-protected Boka Bay, this new 1,000 square metre event space features flowering gardens and a 240 square metre marquee.

Residents and hotel guests will be able to play a range of traditional games, such as badminton, boules and croquet, on the new venue’s outdoor lawn, while the event space will the location of a variety of upcoming events on Porto Montenegro’s calendar.

On 12 May, the season kicked off with the PMYC Beach launch party in association with Southern Soul Festival. Another big event on the horizon is SuperWine. Bringing together the best wineries from the Balkans and across Europe, the festival will take place on 7 July.

The opening of these two new venues reflect Montenegro’s growing status as an emerging high-end tourist destination

Porto Montenegro itself caters to the meticulous needs of all yachts, their owners, guests and crew with specific infrastructure for the largest yachts afloat. There are currently 460 berths and superyachts measuring up to 250 metres can be accommodated.

The opening of these two new venues reflects Montenegro’s growing status as an emerging high-end tourist destination. Porto Montenegro’s offerings, however, are not solely behind the country’s flourishing popularity among the superyacht set.

Gorgeous beaches backed by majestic mountains, glittering Adriatic waters and ancient walled towns clinging to the rocky cliffs make up one of the world’s most attractive coastline, and once ashore, travellers can experience a rich, fascinating culture, outdoor activities galore and a warm welcome from Montenegrins.
