New Direct Flights to Tivat Make Montenegro Yacht Charters Even Easier

By Rebecca Bradbury   23 June 2017

The launch of nine new direct flight routes to Montenegro’s Tivat Airport, situated just a 10-minute drive from Porto Montenegro, will make it more easier than ever for charterers to meet with their superyachts at the marina this summer.

EasyJet, flydubai, Transavia France, Thomas Cook and Eurowings Airlines are all offering new routes from Geneva, Bari, Naples, Rome, Verona, Paris, Brussels, Dusseldorf and Dubai to Tivat.

These are being provided alongside a number of direct routes added last summer from Tivat to destinations across Europe, including but not limited to London, Oslo, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Helsinki, St Petersburg, Minsk, Kiev and Sofia.

Previously, flights were limited to Podgorica Airport, from which transfers to the port could take up to two hours. Porto Montenegro are therefore celebrating the news as it makes it incredibly easy for travellers from across the world to access the marina during the high season.

The simplicity and speed of travelling from the airport to the port may also attract more yacht-goers to undertake a charter vacation in the country, which could encompass visiting neighbours Croatia and Albania.

Danilo Kalezio, Porto Montenegro’s senior PR and marketing manager, said, “We are thrilled with the launch of the new flight routes ahead of this summer. Our vibrant village community and superyacht marina in the heart of the city offers all of the facilities necessary to create the perfect summer holiday for travellers.”

The marina is situated in the beautiful Bay of Kotor and, after exploring the Gothic cathedrals and Byzantine architecture of the city and the idyllic coastal scenery, charterers can explore the unspoilt Lustica peninsula laced with olive groves and charming beaches.

Away from the harbour, beguiling coastlines beckon. Discover picturesque fishing villages, forest-backed beaches and glistening clear waters, all against a wonderful backdrop of rugged mountain ranges and bathed in gorgeous Mediterranean sunshine.
