Motor Yacht SAFIRA Sold and Off the Charter Market

By Editorial Team   26 November 2014

News comes in today that the 39m/128ft expedition yacht SAFIRA has sold and is no longer available for charter.

SAFIRA was built in 2013 by Newcastle and Marine in collaboration with Tyneside Yachts to an award-winning naval architecture design by Sparkman & Stephens. She was designed with the traditional explorer style exterior lines yet inside encompasses highly luxurious amenities and very stylish interior design.

She is also known for being one of the most ‘green’ yachts, built for world exploration that is both fuel economical and uses state-of-the-art technology to ensure reduced impact on the ocean. This environmentally-conscious kind of cruising is becoming an increasingly important part of charter vacations and the superyacht industry as a whole.

Most recently it was announced that the 67m/220ft luxury expedition yacht GLOBAL now includes the Yacht Carbon Offset service that controls the level of fuel emissions that contribute to the greenhouse effect. Other luxury charter yachts that have joined the programme include the 65.5m/215ft Amels motor yacht IMAGINE, the 63m/205ft ‘Baton Rouge’ by Icon Yachts, the award winning 57m/188ft sailing yacht TWIZZLE and the  52m/171ft Benetti built superyacht LATITUDE.
