Checkmate features a semi-displacement aluminium hull and aluminium superstructure, with aluminium decks. She was built to Unknown classification society rules.
Powered by 2 Caterpillar (3412E) 1,400hp diesel engines and propelled by her twin screw propellers Motor yacht Checkmate is capable of a top speed of 23 knots, and comfortably cruises at 18 knots. With her 18,906 litres fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 2,000 nautical miles at 12 knots. Her water tanks store around 3,785 gallons of fresh water.
