7 Day Leeward Islands Charter Itinerary - St. Martin to St. Martin

St. Martin to St. Martin

Ideal for Winter Season

Replete with sequestered coves and truly striking turquoise waters, Saint Martin offers charterers a veritable paradise to explore whilst away on a luxury charter vacation.

  • Day 1

    St Martin & Anguilla

Embark at St. Martin: a spicy marriage of European and Caribbean cultures and a world away from all your worries.

Half Dutch, half French (St. Maarten/St. Martin), the two nations have been partitioned in neighbourly cooperation and mutual friendship for almost 350 years. The border is almost imperceptible, and people cross back and forth without ever realizing they are entering a new country. The French side exhibits lavish elegance, historic buildings, white sand beaches, some nice boutiques and sporting facilities. The Dutch hued St. Maarten delivers red hot casinos and night life, and a bustling duty-free shopping centre...

After having enjoyed your first lunch and a few cocktails onboard, head to Anguilla to end the afternoon and anchor there for the night at Rendez-Vous Bay.

  • Day 2

    Anguilla or Saba

With thirty-three exceptional powdery white beaches, seven marine parks, mouth-watering cuisine, and contemporary international style, Anguilla offers you a plethora of choices. Alternatively, if its scuba diving you’re interested in, the island of Saba is so untouched it’s magical.

In Anguilla you can visit art galleries, tour historic sites and museums, go on excursions to the undersea world, or visit an offshore cay for a secluded afternoon picnic. Anguilla measures only 12 miles by four, and is everyone’s idea of the tropical island dream made real - powdered sand and clear blue waters. Strict rules apply – no cruise ships, no package holidays, no jet skis, which has kept Anguilla sleepy, select and unashamedly elitist. A wave of the hand conjures a glass of champagne, and lobster is always on the menu for dinner. Try Gorgeous Scilly Cay for a lobster lunch. Shoal Bay and Maundays Bay are stunning, as are the forty odd beaches. Pyrat Rum is a local speciality, aged in oak barrels. Ride on the beaches from El Rancho del Blues, try the
menu degustation at Pimm’s, Cap Juluca on Maundy’s Bay. The Pumphouse has great blues singers, and there are two late bars with live bands at Sandy Ground.

A mere two miles in diameter, Saba reaches 3,000 feet. Tall cliffs of red, pink and brown rise vertically from the sea and houses sit perched in seemingly impossible positions on the edges of precipices. Also known as “the Unspoiled Queen” due to its unique ecology, Saba is one of the top five destinations in the world to scuba dive. With no hotels, beaches, or ports, it is one of the Caribbean’s best kept secrets.

  • Day 3

    St Barts

The ultra chic French Caribbean island of St Barthélemy is the place to be for Christmas and the New Year, and remains popular throughout the winter season.

Visit the tiny port of Gustavia, where the local beach bars sell a dozen types of champagne and fine French cuisine. The boutiques are very sophisticated giving St. Barths a real “Cote d’Azur” feel. Go to a barefoot bar and drink a beer, or dress up and go gourmet, the choice is yours. St Barth’s has some of the finest beaches in the Caribbean, Gouverneur and Grande Saline being two of the island’s best. Be sure to rend a mini Moke and drive around the island. Head back to the yacht and cruise to the Bay of Anse de Columbier, a secluded paradise with a perfect beach fringed by a smattering of palms and a steep hill. This is the perfect place for a barbecue on the beach or dinner at anchor.

    Events:

January 4 – 27: The 29th St Barts Music Festival
January 20: Jazz Night / John Ellis Quartet

  • Day 4

    St Martin

Depending on the schedule of the guests, cruise to St Martin to shift Groups 1 and 2.

Stay at anchor for the afternoon and enjoy the water sports or explore the island with its historical buildings on the French side, sun kissed secluded beaches, cosmopolitan boutiques, gourmet water front bistros etc. Zouk, calypso, reggae and jazz will provide the soundtrack to romantic dining experience.

  • Day 5

    St Barts

Head back to St Barts for another taste of this island!

This time, head back to the yacht in the evening and cruise to the Bay of Anse de Columbier, a secluded paradise with a perfect beach fringed by a smattering of palms and a steep hill. This is the perfect place for a barbeque on the beach or dinner at anchor.

  • Day 6

    Antigua

Overnight passage from St Barts to Antigua.

Famous for warm steady winds, remarkable beaches, and epic yachting events, Antigua is one of the Caribbean’s premier tourist destinations. Just off its coast lies the uninhabited Green Island. This tropical paradise is a favorite stop for many Antigua sea charters, offering excellent snorkeling and a variety of secluded beaches. Explore lovely Carlisle Bay, a palm lined white sandy beach, for a leisurely lunch and swim before setting sail again on the turquoise waters of Cades Reef, where you can experience the thrill of sailing in the clear shallow waters of Antigua’s west coast. There is a lively social scene in the main town area, especially around Christmas and during Antigua Race Week in April. If you happen to be in the area on a Sunday night watch the sun go down at Shirley’s Heights and party on until dawn to the sound of the steel band. Local eateries include the Southern Cross in Falmouth Harbour for contemporary cuisine in a sophisticated waterside setting. Have lunch at nearby Harmony Hall, the setting and the food are excellent. Browse around the art gallery and have cocktails at the top of the sugar mill before sitting down for lunch.

  • Day 7

    St Martin

Overnight passage from Antigua to St Martin.

Breakfast at anchor in St Martin and chill out before disembarking. Transfer to the Airport.
