Guide to Kyparissi

Sitting like a gem along the east coast of the Peloponnese mainland between Nafplion and Monemvasia, the tiny fishing village of Kyparissi has been beautifully preserved in its breathtaking, unspoilt charm. The area actually comprises if three villages built into the mountain range, the highest of which is Vrissi with its running spring and scattering of orchards and olive trees.

Down a steep and narrow road is the second village of Parilea which offers a two of the three picturesque white-pebble beaches in the area and some fantastic tavernas serving fresh fish, meats, cheeses and excellent local wine. One of the beaches separates Paralea from the third village of Metropolis, a favourite with Athenians who come to get away from city-life over a long and lingering weekend.
