The 41st edition of the Virgin Islands Charter Yacht League (VICL) Fall Yacht Show will see St Thomas transform into a hub of yachting activity from Wednesday 4 November to Saturday 7 November.
A pick of the best sail yachts for charter in the Virgin Islands will be on display for inspections, ranging from monohulls to catamarans, as well as a small number of motor yachts, alongside a busy schedule of fun social events. A fleet of approximately 40 yachts and brokers from the U.S., Europe and the Caribbean are expected to be at the 2015 show. An event primarily for smaller charter yachts, the largest yachts of the attending fleet will measure 22 metres (72 feet).
Daily yacht viewings hosted by local brokers will be accompanied by events including a champagne reception, cocktail hour, themed parties and BBQ. Accolades will also be handed out to celebrate outstanding culinary efforts (with the Culinary Contest) and CYBA Designer Water Award.
Since 1968, the not-for-profit VICL has established itself as the go-to professional yacht charter organization of the U.S. Virgin Islands and champions of the Virgin Island's boating industry.
Speaking on the event, executive director Brianne Beatty commented, “The atmosphere is relaxed, everyone is less rushed, and there’s ample time for brokers to visit aboard each yacht and get to know the crews.”
