At the most southerly tip of Antigua, the 'lookout' of the Shirley Heights military complex offers a breathtaking view over the vast blue of the English Harbour, dotted with superyachts that flock to the one of the Caribbean's most popular charter destinations.
You'll find the signal station - 150m above sea level - that once sent important messages through flags and guns to St. John's here, alongside a guard house, officers' quarters and parade grounds. The cemetery commemorates the officers and men who died in service in the West Indies from 1840 to 1851.
