In spite of a bumpy start to the year as a result of Coronavirus, 2020 has been a superb year for the charter fleet. We’ve seen plenty of brand new yachts become available for luxury yacht charters for the very first time; here are 10 of our top picks for a yachting vacation in 2021.
Planning a superyacht vacation in 2021?
Whether you're brand new to chartering or you're a serial charter guest, you'll know that the brand new yachts are almost always the most in-demand and saught-after during their first season.
If you're keen to be among the first to step on board, you're not alone. This is particularly true this year, when we've seen a huge number of brand new yachts join the world of private yacht charter in preparation for their debut seasons in 2021.
Below, we've rounded up our top 10 picks which you can book now for a motor yacht charter in 2021.
Best for: Alfresco living
The first of Benetti’s 40M series, the 41m (135ft) motor yacht REBECA was delivered in September to much acclaim. Her unique design allows a continuous connection to the sea and the surroundings, making her the perfect candidate for yacht charters in Italy and other Mediterranean hotspots.
The region’s dramatic views can be admired from the fold-down sea terraces or the glass-edged pool on the aft deck, while her elegant interiors continue to impress with plenty of glass and a fluid, open-plan layout that maximises her 8.5m beam. Accommodation is provided for 11 guests in five cabins.
Best for: Show-stopping luxury
One of the most impressive deliveries of 2020, 80m (263ft) luxury yacht TATIANA is set to be the yacht of choice for sun-lovers, thrill-seekers and those in search of six-star luxury. Among her on-board highlights are a pair of pools; one in the beach club and one on the main deck; the latter of which features transparent panelling that looks into the beach club/pool set-up below.
The yacht benefits from contemporary and elegant interiors with plenty of champagne tones, pale grey accents, low lighting and mirrored surfaces. A pool table sits in one of the salons opposite a grand piano and a bar, and elsewhere the yacht offers wellness facilities with a steam room and sauna. The cherry on top is an expansive toy locker. Accommodation is provided for up to 12 guests in eight cabins and she will be available to book across the Mediterranean this summer 2021.
Best for: Adventure and exploration
Currently on her maiden voyage from Dutch shipyard Damen, the 77m (253ft) expedition yacht 'La Datcha' is one of the world’s best-equipped explorer yachts for charter. Striking the perfect balance between luxury living and serious capability, this motor yacht has 40 days autonomy at sea, meaning she can comfortably cruise in some of the most remote regions on the planet.
The yacht’s itinerary for 2021 includes diving in the Indian Ocean and heli-skiing around the remote islands of Russia. She’s equipped with an on-board submarine and accommodation for two helicopters to make the most out of all the world’s most far-flung destinations, as well as a fully-equipped spa with Hamman and ice shower. She sleeps up to 12 guests in six cabins.
Best for: Yacht charters in Greece
Easily the largest and most impressive yacht with a Greek charter license, brand new 95m (310ft) charter yacht O’PARI has been making waves as she cruises through the pretty port towns and sleepy fishing villages of Greece. She was delivered earlier this year from Greek shipyard Golden Yachts, and she was designed with the charter market in mind from the outset.
She offers everything charterers could possibly dream of on a superyacht vacation, including a generous aft deck pool fringed with sunpads and a foredeck helipad which can double as a lounge area when not in use. Her interiors are sumptuous and comfortable, with plenty of natural light and a sophisticated colour palette which extends into her 14 cabins (which accommodate 12 guests).
Best for: Adrenaline-fueled watersports
Add an extra dimension to your charter with 55m (181ft) luxury yacht GALENE. This yacht offers all the latest water toys and accessories, from Jet Surfs to Wake Surfs and everything in between- including towable toys and inflatables. There’s something new to try every day, and GALENE’s carefully selected, competent crew are on hand to help teach you how to use them.
Delivered in 2020 by Amels, she provides great outdoor spaces to relax, dine and entertain with the added benefit of glass bulwarks for unobstructed views. Up to 12 guests can be accommodated in five cabins and she will be based in the Mediterranean in summer 2021 after a debut season in the Caribbean and the Bahamas.
Best for: A vacation to remember
With a polished finish that’s synonymous with pedigree Dutch shipyard Feadship, 75m (246ft) superyacht ARROW is as versatile as she is sensational. She offers exterior spaces that larger yachts would be proud of, alongside stacks of A* amenities including a glass-rimmed sundeck pool and beautifully-finished full-beam beach club which is large, yet convivial.
The motor yacht was delivered in 2020 and will be chartering in Mediterranean destinations including Capri and the Cote d’Azur. Wherever she cruises, she’s sure to turn heads with her sharp and streamlined exterior penned by the renowned H2 Yacht Design. Accommodation is offered for up to 12 guests in six cabins, which includes a well-appointed Owner’s suite.
Best for: Family fun
55m (181ft) luxury yacht GECO will be spending her first charter season cruising in Mediterranean hotspots including Croatia, Greece and Turkey. These are perfect destinations for chartering with children, with plenty of shallow bays and tiny islets where littles ones can safely explore. But regardless of her cruising regions, this motor yacht is primed for playing host.
GECO has a superb selection of water toys that will entertain guests of all ages, alongside a generous beach club with a set of steps which lead directly into the water to provide easy and safe access. Her foredeck helipad is a stand-out sunbathing spot with bulwarks for enclosed protection, and she offers shaded alfresco dining and accommodation for 12 guests in six cabins.
Best for: Relaxing in the sun
Delivered by German yard Abeking & Rasmussen earlier this year, 68m (224ft) motor yacht SOARING is a lesson in versatility. Embodying her Owner’s request to achieve a peaceful and serene setting at sea, SOARING offers elegant styling and refined details at her every turn. Her layout eschews a traditional format to bring a more social focus to her living spaces, and each cabin is equally as decadent as the next; so no bickering over who gets which cabin.
Accommodation is offered for 12 guests in six cabins and stand-out features include a large jacuzzi pool with sensational views and a pop-up glass wind deflector encircling the alfresco dining. No compromising on vistas, this is just one feature that showcases the thoughtful design behind this boat.
Best for: Wellness at sea
Recently delivered and still shrouded in secrecy, the 55m (180ft) motor yacht SOLEMATES joined the yacht charter fleet shortly after delivery by Heesen a few months ago. Available for tropical vacations across the Caribbean, she is set to become popular thanks to a long list of amenities which includes an 82 square metre Owner’s suite and a huge beach club with wellness suite.
Here, charterers can relax and unwind just inches from the water, with a swim platform that provides easy access to the sea. Dutch-built with interiors from the renowned Bannenberg & Rowell, the motor yacht has Pop Art accents in her main salon and offers accommodation for 12 guests in six cabins.
Best for: Entertaining in style
Not afraid to stand out from the crowds, the 40m (132ft) luxury yacht ‘Happy Me’ is the ultimate show-stopper for a fun-filled vacation with friends. Her interiors are a vibrant blend of different themes which complement each other remarkably well, from Oriental accents to jungle prints. Her skylounge features a backlit onyx bar with large cinema screen and discreet panels of purple-tinted lighting, while the ensuites attached to the guest accommodation feature honey and espresso marble detailing.
Stepping outside, the motor yacht continues to impress with a large games deck with a foosball and pool table, alongside a lounging area that’s been designed for soaking up the sunset views with an evening aperitif. A jacuzzi is positioned on the foredeck, alongside another generous lounge area.
