One of the reasons that Croatia has been able to reopen for superyachts is that it’s easy to maintain Social Distancing when cruising here. Here’s why:
- Lots of islands
Croatia alone is home to 1,000 islands, many of which are uninhabited. Sandy beaches make great backdrops for beach picnics, and hiking trails through the pine forests promise an opportunity for on-land exploration.
- Nature reserves
Many of Croatia’s islands are marine and nature reserves, so you can expect awe-inspiring natural beauty while cruising here, as well as the chance to see protected species of wildlife.
- Plenty of mooring opportunities
It’s easy to avoid spending time in crowded ports, since there are lots of quiet bays and sheltered anchorages in Croatia.
- Sights that you can view from your yacht
Many of Croatia’s top attractions can easily be viewed from the comfort of your yacht. See the famous red-rooved cities, stone walls and little chapels all from the luxurious setting of your superyacht.
- Diving and scuba
Croatia is a diver’s paradise, with reefs, wrecks and incredible cave formations among the underwater sights in this region.
You can take a look at all our Croatia yacht charter itineraries for more inspiration to plan your next yachting vacation.
It’s worth remembering that if you’re looking to embark and disembark in Croatia, the yacht you’re chartering will need a Croatian charter license. Most of the yachts listed above do possess a Croatian licence, but if they don’t it’s very simple to embark and disembark in neighbouring Montenegro, and many of our itineraries account for this option.
Montenegro is also open for superyachts right now. The country's leading luxury hub and superyacht marina, Porto Montenegro announced a new digital reception service in March to maintain Social Distancing for its clients.
If you're considering arriving via private plane, Dubrovnik and Montenegro both have services available to facilitate this.
