Now in its 22nd year, the Bucket in St. Barths will no doubt deliver another mix of outstanding racing with glamorous social events.
St. Barths Bucket Regatta is one of the most established and prestigious invitational sailing yacht races in the yachting calendar, with a truly outstanding variety of sailing yachts, yachts available for charter, and private motor yachts meeting once a year for three days.
With four competitions arranged by the Bucket Association, 30 yachts of over 30m/100ft are set to compete around the popular Caribbean island. This regatta is extremely unique as both owners and crews are welcome to experiment on the capabilities of their yacht in a safe environment.
The regatta is ultimately a pursuit race and consists of a number of interesting rules including: any yacht deemed to be too competitive or aggressive is immediately excluded, all yachts must rely on sail power-only at the beginning, and any protests are to come with champagne.
Visitors are attracted to the myriad of social activities just as much as the enthralling comradery racing, as Gustavia Harbour comes alive to a host of social parties and gatherings, ideal for networking and celebrating the new regatta season.
